1.    The number of guests expected- This should be the first consideration in every wedding. The number of guests determines everything from the budget and space required. Rule of thumb, if you expect 20, ensure you put an extra 10% budget. It is common for a friend to tag along with another. A fixed budget will only embarrass you in such an instance.

2.    Wedding Venue- Avoid the last-minute rush. Book a wedding venue early enough to avoid meeting with apologetic receptionists telling you sorry for now we are fully booked. You can relate an incident where you went booking a guest room when you were informed no vacant. Imagine this being the case on your wedding day.

3.    Best wedding planners- The team planning your wedding is core on your big day. To avoid disappointment, hire the best. It is better expensive wedding planners who are good at it than the cheapest who will cost your big day.

4.    Theme color- Have you ever attended a wedding with confusing colors? I mean confused and not mixed colors. Of course, you cannot want to be among the list. Consult with the deco professionals to assist you in choosing the best colors for your wedding.

5.    The Bridal Team- It is obvious you would not want a sadist on your big day. Choose a cheerful bridal team with a sense of style or be forced to dispose of the unpleasant photos. Let them be willing to be on the team. Request them early in advance if they would be available to honor your wedding day.

6.    Photographer- Photography, and videography is the most sensitive part of a wedding. It is obvious nobody would want to gamble on this. Be sure to find a professional for this, cos everything in that big day will only be available in memories stored in a piece photo or video.

7.    Tailor booking- Sorry to mention but these guys can drive you nuts a day to your D-day on finding out they are not through with dressmaking. Free piece of advice, you should always give them a two weeks’ deadline for the wedding day. On a night to my aunt's wedding day, we had to burn the midnight oil waiting on the tailor to finish making our dresses as the bride maids. I give you my word, not an experience I would like to undergo at any other wedding.

8.    Playlist- Have an organized playlist with your DJ on the type of music you would like to play. Music is the heart of cheering up your big day.

9.    Food and drinks- Wedding means the celebration of uniting lovebirds. Celebration means lots of merry in terms of delicious meals. You cannot wish your guests to go back with grumbling stomachs or bad food taste in their mouths. Find the best caterers to save your embarrassment on this big day.

10.    Wedding rehearsal- Rehearse with your bridal team how to walk down the aisle, vows to be exchanged, and the dances. Ha-ha, you will not want to be a laughing stock on your big day by making funny dance moves or stepping on your partner.
